NDO — From September 18 to 20, in Vinh Long Province, the Vietnam Women’s Union (Central Committee), in coordination with the Vinh Long Women’s Union, organized the Southern Regional Competition on Women’s Entrepreneurship themed “Women’s Innovative Startups and Green Transition.”

This competition is one of the key activities under the project “Supporting Women’s Entrepreneurship for the 2017–2025 period”, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 939/QĐ-TTg dated June 30, 2017 (Project 939).

The event featured 18 contestants, each representing a startup project and directly presenting the novelty, creativity, and green orientation of their products, services, or business models, or their potential to generate positive environmental impacts. Projects winning Third Prize or higher will advance to the National Finals of the 2024 Women’s Entrepreneurship Competition, scheduled to take place in Hanoi this October.

The competition aims to inspire and encourage women of all backgrounds and ages to actively participate in entrepreneurship and business development; identify, select, and honor outstanding women-led enterprises, cooperatives, business groups, and household businesses with innovative ideas that improve production processes or introduce new products and services.

It also seeks to identify new business models utilizing renewable energy, promoting organic, clean, circular, and environmentally friendly production—aligned with the goals of advancing the green transition. Through these efforts, the competition contributes to implementing Vietnam’s National Green Growth Strategy for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
