During the meetings, both sides expressed delight that bilateral relations are currently at their strongest point in more than 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, marked by a series of important strategic frameworks—the Strategic Partnership in climate change, energy, environment and green growth (2011), the Comprehensive Partnership (2013), and the Green Strategic Partnership (2023).

The Danish counterparts expressed admiration for Vietnam’s remarkable development, noting that within just 15–20 years, Vietnam has transformed from an ODA recipient into an important partner of Denmark and one of the most attractive markets for Danish businesses in the region.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang thanked Denmark for its longstanding support, stressing that Danish ODA has made significant contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development achievements.

She also expressed appreciation for Denmark’s condolences and sympathy regarding the heavy losses caused by Typhoon Yagi. The Deputy Minister emphasized that cooperation with Denmark in green transition and environmental protection is now more important and urgent than ever. She called on Denmark to continue sharing experience and supporting Vietnam in enhancing disaster response and climate-change adaptation capacity.

Deputy Minister Hang highly valued Lego’s low-emission, green investment project and proposed that Denmark continue facilitating Danish enterprises to expand investment and business activities in their areas of strength, such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, green transition, and sustainable development.

Both sides welcomed the development and strategic contributions of P4G in promoting public-private cooperation, supporting member countries in advancing green transition, and helping to build a global ecosystem for green growth.

The Danish partners underlined that Vietnam’s trusted selection as host of the 4th P4G Summit reflects the high regard of the international community for Vietnam’s commitment to green transition. They expressed confidence that hosting the summit in Vietnam will help set a model of best-practice cooperation globally and inspire greater collective action toward green growth and emission reduction.

The Danish partners thanked Vietnam for its active and responsible contributions to P4G and expressed their desire to continue working closely with Vietnam to sustain momentum, strengthen P4G’s role, and coordinate with other multilateral mechanisms to advance global climate goals.

During the meeting, the Danish side shared experience from hosting the first P4G Summit, commended Vietnam’s preparations, supported Vietnam’s priorities and proposals, and expressed confidence that Vietnam will successfully host the upcoming summit. They reaffirmed their readiness to assist and work closely with Vietnam to ensure a successful event.
