Green job development trends

Tác giả bizdi

If in previous years, fields such as law, business, medicine were chosen by many students, now fields such as clean energy are developing… will bring many new job opportunities. Those who study fields such as environmental technology, oceanography will have many opportunities to work in the environmental industry. Many schools have found ways to help students find jobs by cooperating with businesses in research projects on energy and environment.

According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), green jobs or green jobs are legitimate jobs that contribute to protecting or regenerating the environment, whether in traditional sectors such as manufacturing and construction, or in emerging green sectors such as renewable energy and energy efficiency. Green jobs help improve energy efficiency and the use of raw materials; limit greenhouse gas emissions; minimize waste and pollution; protect and restore ecosystems; and support adaptation to the impacts of climate change.

At the firm level, green jobs can produce goods and provide services that benefit the environment, such as green buildings or clean transportation. However, these green products (goods and services) are not always based on green production processes and techniques. Green jobs can therefore be differentiated by the contribution of the job to more environmentally friendly processes. For example, green jobs can reduce water consumption or improve recycling systems. Thus, green jobs that are defined by production processes do not necessarily produce environmentally related goods and services.

Employing the majority of the global workforce, businesses are a major source of employment and wealth creation. Particularly in developing countries, business development can help provide needed goods and services, create jobs, improve living standards and reduce poverty. Businesses are truly at the heart of environmental and social challenges. Indeed, it is in the workplace that the social, economic and environmental aspects cannot be separated. Green business development addresses these challenges by focusing on sustainable development and creating green jobs.
