A survey by Savills Vietnam shows that there are currently more than 400 industrial parks in Vietnam operating as eco-industrial parks.
Although the number remains limited, demand for this type of real estate is expected to grow in the future.
The development of green industrial parks is still in its early stages and will be a long-term process.
Transitioning a conventional industrial park into an environmentally friendly one is not simple, as the process is costly and requires careful consideration by the Government regarding the legal framework.
According to data from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, by 2030, around 40–50% of provinces and cities nationwide will have plans to convert existing industrial parks into eco-industrial parks; 8–10% will orient themselves toward developing new eco-industrial parks.
